The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency has published this year's application rounds for Klimatklivet, the national investment support programme that promotes climate-smart projects throughout Sweden. Klimatklivet provides support for investments that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen the transition to fossil-free energy, in everything from energy and industrial projects to biogas and charging infrastructure.
Between 2 March and 20 March 2026, you can apply for support for most projects covered by Klimatklivet, including biogas-related investments. For those of you who work with biogas production, upgrading facilities or biogas utilisation, this application period is an excellent opportunity to secure government support for new investments that contribute to both your local goals and Sweden's climate goals.
