Get to know our automation engineer Mikael Kristensson

Can you tell us a little about your role and what you do here at the company?
Employed as an automation engineer, but now during the development and construction of the next plant, the tasks have varied. Some automation but also extends to selecting bolts and gaskets for flange joints. As we are a small organisation, everyone can help where needed.

What is the best thing about working at Biofrigas?
Nice caps... Exciting to be involved in building new technology.

What does a normal working day look like for you?
Varied, during the design of the ongoing construction, it has mostly consisted of finding out what we need and who can provide us with it. Now that the construction phase has begun, I'm on site at Granitor welding the plant together. This is so that they can get answers faster if there is something in the documents that does not match reality.

What are the biggest challenges in your job, and what do you like most about solving them?
A lot of questions that are outside my previous knowledge base that lead me to learn more.

What inspires you in your work?
The technical challenge of building a facility that no one has done before.

What do you like to do when you are not working? Any hobbies or interests?
Outside and moving around in nature. The longer the better.

How do you stay motivated and engaged in your work?
The knowledge that our product will be part of the transition from a fossil-fuelled society.

Can you tell us about something fun or unexpected you have experienced at work?
Cryogenic cold can be awesome when you get down so cold that the constituents of the air start to condense and boil as it drips onto the ground below.

If you could describe your job in three words, what would they be?
Varied, challenging and rewarding
