New CEO at Biofrigas

We welcome Erik Fromell as the new CEO of Biofrigas. We took the opportunity to ask Erik a few questions about his background, what inspires him, and what he is looking forward to.

Can you tell us about your background and where you most recently worked?
In recent years, I have been working on developing and driving biogas solutions in various forms. Among other things, I helped build up Gasum’s Nordic network of filling stations for liquefied biogas, worked on biogas projects for Nature Energy, and was responsible for business development and sales in the field. For me, the link between economy and the environment is obvious – and it is precisely this insight that has guided my career choices.

What will your role at the company be?
As CEO, I have broad responsibility for the business. Initially, my focus will be on delivering our first facilities to customers while also further developing our model for manufacturing, installation, and service. This is crucial for creating stable conditions and scaling up the business in a sustainable way.

You’ve been with Biofrigas for a few months now – what’s the best thing about working here?
Being part of a small growth company like Biofrigas is both exciting and varied. The role means I have to juggle many perspectives while also staying close to the practical work with customers, suppliers, staff, and owners. What really sets Biofrigas apart is the down-to-earth "doer mentality" that permeates the entire company, from the board to the staff. There’s a clear focus on getting things done. At the same time, it’s very rewarding to work with products that concretely solve important problems for our customers.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
In my role, a workday can vary greatly, ranging from customer meetings to administration, but I would say that a very good workday is spent with colleagues on-site with a customer where we solve problems together.

What are the biggest challenges in your job?
Focusing on what is truly important.

What inspires you in your work?
The variety.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? Any hobbies or interests?
Family and friends are important. My leisure interests revolve a lot around outdoor activities. Hiking is a relatively new hobby for me. Otherwise, much of my free time has centered around the sea, sailing, and fishing.

How do you stay motivated and engaged in your work?
I get a lot of energy from meeting customers, suppliers, and partners.

What are you most looking forward to in the coming six months?
I am most looking forward to when we launch our first facility and get to see it delivered and commissioned for a customer.

If you were to describe your job in three words, what would they be?
Multifaceted, exciting, and challenging.
