Here is a report from our CEO Erik Fromell.
Yesterday, I had the great honour of talking about Biofrigas, our products and our ongoing installation project to a select group of farmers, advisors and technology suppliers at the Swedish Rural Economy Society's major conference on farm-based biogas plants.
Looking back, 2024 was a successful year for small-scale biogas production in Sweden, with over 35 new biogas plants installed. We do not yet know what 2025 will look like, but the first half of the year has probably also been good. Average annual production was approximately 1.8 GWh of biogas per plant, which fits well with Biofriga's smaller farm tank solution Cryosep, which has a capacity of 2 GWh/year.
By 2030, the Swedish food chain should be almost completely fossil-free. One exciting presentation that particularly caught my attention was RISE's presentation of their AgroDrive initiative. AgroDrive is a centre for fossil-free energy in agriculture and food, led by RISE, with the aim of reducing fossil fuel dependence at all stages of the food system, strengthening Sweden's security of supply, improving competitiveness and reducing climate impact. Just think how well Biofriga's products fit into this context.
